This was pure bullshit, the writing was okay actually enjoyable but the content was utter bullshit. I have no idea what in heck I have read. I DNF'd after pushing myself for 3 days to try and get through this book thinking there was a light at the end of the tunnel.

Sorry to say, the light was not even a light it was a reflection of a reflection of shit. Yes just like you didn't understand that last sentence is how I feel about this book. Why isn't important to know the reason for train tracks to be 143.5cm.

Honestly, this is the second book of this author that I have DNF'd this year. I read 11 minutes a long time ago and it was decent but the rest of his writing, you need to be high on every known psychedelic drug to even glimpse at what he is trying to say.

This was all about his entitled regurgitation of being able to to sleep with as many women as he wanted and live life without responsibility and have his fun without caring about anyone one else who got hurt in the process. Suffice to say, this is the last time I am attempting to read Paulo's books. I clearly have not attained the "spiritual enlightenment" he has.

okuduğum en kötü paulo coelho kitabıydı ve sonunu okurken güldüm ( çünkü trajikomikti...)

This book is exactly what I needed to read in this season in my life. Sometimes you get caught up in chasing things that aren't meant to be chased only to realize you need to bring the focus back to yourself. Doors open and your path brings you to exactly where you need to be, even if it's not a destination you once imagined. Coehlo never fails to make me dig deep.

I started this book while driving alone from Mt. Shasta to the California Coast. At the time I wasn't in love with anyone or anything but my freedom, as I had a whole week to drive, camp, read, and explore on my own. I didn't finish the book on the trip, however, and instead finished in spurts, a year later. I have no head for details but I recall enjoying the first 3/4 of this book immensely, while twisting my way to the ocean. The last 1/4 fell flat for me, probably because I had lost momentum (as I had with my most recent Kundera adventure). Also too, I am now in the beginning of a new relationship, and for the first time, feeling more freed by love than tied down by it. So, perhaps I am just not a time in my life where the subject matter resonates with me. However, I still enjoyed this book and will probably read it, instead of listen to it, if I ever decide to tackle it again.

The story revolves around the narrator, a bestselling novelist, whose name is not revealed to us. I find him delusional, arrogant and not much likable. His wife Esther, a war correspondent, has disappeared without a trace. Two years passed and there's not at all any information about her. The narrator is living in paris with his girlfriend, has written books but he finds himself in the edge of despair and agony, because he cannot find out the exact reason for Esther's disappearance. He meets Mikhail, with whom was his wife last seen and thus opens a way to find his wife. She becomes the Zahir for him, the obsession and the only way out of his misery and agony.

Personally, I loved the book. Like Coelho's all other books, this one also conveys spiritual messages. It deals with freedom, family and energy of love and radiates so much positivity and spirituality. This book gave me a great perspective about relationships and a fabulous reading experience. This is a wonderful story about becoming, and remembering who you were meant to be, not who you settled into.

One of my favourite book’s by Coelho. When I was done with the book, It felt like something inside me had changed.
