Of course, the presentation is lovely.

But I realized - maybe for the first time - that the character is much better digested in small doses. Death just doesn't seem to maintain the complexity and depth that Dream does throughout SANDMAN. Still good, but a good spinoff that can't quite match the original.

Fantastic. As with many of Gaiman's "spinoff" works, it is not a sequel but rather a companion to the excellent Sandman series. The illustration is varied but consistently good, and the stories are interesting and thoughtful. Gaiman's ability to form characters is unmatched, and he proves it in (and especially with) 'Death' with easy finesse.

First thing first, I love Death. In the Sandman series she wasn't necessarily my favorite character, only because of the little time she was given in each appearance. My favorite Endless would have to go to Delirium, however whenever Death is given time she definitely steals the show.
So when I went in reading this, I knew it would be fantastic. It includes the arcs of Death that are included in the Sandman, including her first appearance at the end of the first Sandman arc.
It also includes two full, original stories of Death. In between are some one-shot issues that are actually pretty awesome for Death.
I don't really know how to review it. The art is amazing, there's a few cameos turned full main stay characters from the Sandman series. Just a full five stars. I love it.

Gaiman’s writing is , as always, a pure joy to read. Reading this about Death makes me feel that she is not so bad after all, and that is all coz of Gaiman’s writing.
The artwork itself was a little goth for my liking, but I guess it had to be like that when you refer to Death in human form.
