DID NOT FINISH

Read 200 pages. Even for Ishiguro, this was unmoored.

This isn’t a novel you read for the plot. It’s a novel you sink into—like being caught in an anxiety attack rendered in prose.

I was excited to find a lesser known Ishiguro...and then I found out why it's lesser-known. This was a snoozefest, and after looking up the rest of the plot, it doesn't get better.

the best book by Ishiguro that I've read yet I think. if you love someone you should tell them while you have the chance

"Leave us. You were always on the outside of our love. Now look at you. On the outside of our grief too."
