I swear the word coward is on every other page. I just cannot wrap my head around a FMC who is just so awful to the MMC.

What can I say? I just want to take Clay’s head and cradle him against my bosom and rock him and love him forever. He’s seriously one of the best heroes I’ve read in a romance novel. I forgot how much I loved Lorraine’s writing. Now I need to go read more.

I had such a good time reading this. Clay's one of those deeply wounded types that's just so damn good inside you fall for him almost immediately! The loneliness, the deep love he had for his brothers and the respect he still had for everyone even though they fucking hated him. What a man. I liked Meg quite a bit, even when she was spitting venom in his direction I just kept thinking "you're going to feel like such an idiot when you realize how wrong you are". So satisfying to watch her fall for him slowly but fuck she fell hard! The last couple of chapters had a LOT happen, felt a bit rushed but it was a great ending too, a hard won HEA.

Really, rather remarkable. Not at all what I was expecting. Just utterly heartbreaking in places.
