This is the first school book I can say I have really enjoyed (I haven't read 7 chapters in the middle) but it was really good. I enjoyed it way more than I thought! 4.5/5

i can see the merit of it being a “classic,” and certainly Twain was ahead of his time with his progressive views. however, there were so many points that were so incredulous and unrealistic that i had to put the book down and ask myself what i had just read. i will say that i did not expect this much depth in contrast to what i have heard of Sawyer, perhaps i will have to read that one next to compare. check trigger warnings.
