At first, I had a little difficulty following the second main character, Jack, in this book, because his problems seemed a little abstract and hard to grasp at the beginning. Soon, however, this story became very exciting. Jack's experiences become mystical on the one hand, on the other hand he has quite mundane problems, which are also related to his profession. I really liked the protagonist Lucy, whose ancestors are from Mexico. Lucy has a strong connection with the ancient Mexican mother goddess Tonantzin and I won't tell you more because of the risk of spoilers. In the finale there are some scenes that I can only describe as badass and epic in the best sense. This time, Lucy's coven works together with brujas, and not only in Portland, as well as several activist groups and some hackers - all of this work was really suspenseful to read.
