my one weakness in literature? gay hockey players and boy did this book deliver on that front! i can honestly say that this book was adorable and cute and about finding your way back to someone after you’ve grown up a little and i loved it. did some of the changes team names bug me a little bit? yes. because even when the sharks are being alluded to under a different name, they are still not appreciated.

This book just felt like it totally dragged on. The plot felt almost stagnant for so many chapters and it was such a struggle to get through it. I enjoyed the characters, but even then, I felt like I didn't really get to understand them or their relationship. Part of that was that we never really saw their relationship develop at all - it was kind of there already in some awkward version in the beginning. That and the fact that it never felt like the story had any momentum made it hard to connect with the story or feel its emotions. Overall, I think it had potential, but could do with some better shaping in terms of plot and narrative to make it more tight and compelling.
