This book is historically vital. It is tough to read sometimes, but I do believe every Dutch person should read this.
The writing is lyrical in most places, but loses its poignancy and beauty when talking about economics. The final chapter leaves you with shivers.

Not easy to read because of the way it is written and because of what is being told.
