All the good feels and hard questions and just ALL THE THINGS!

"All the mess, because we tell the truth, and all the moxie, because telling the truth sets us free."

Incredibly thankful for an author that can at the same time so hilariously and eloquently describe our shared human experience.

In the current divisive climate of the world, I am drawn to these types of memoirs/essay collections. People being sincere, honest, messy--struggling with life and forgiveness but ultimately leaning into goodness and hope and unity. "Love is a genuine solution"--and the most powerful.

Really enjoyed this book! The things that frustrated me about For the Love did not this time around. The content felt a little more focused on speaking into the lives of women in many different stages of life. Laughed so hard at multiple points- her sarcasm and honest, self-deprecating humor is a highlight. There were so many moments where the names of friends came to mind that I wanted to share certain things with and I was sad when it came to an end- in my opinion two signs of a good book.

Funny, and also full of hefty essays on faith and parenting and friendship.

Loved, loved, loved this book. If you haven't read it, don't wait, read it now. Jen Hatmaker is a modern day Erma Bombeck. I love her style of writing in essays. I love her recipes that she peppers through her book. Most of all, I love her heart for people. She's the real deal.

Just not for me.. I respect the religion and enthusiasm but couldn't stick with it. Placed on the abandoned shelf.
