I didn't really care for this one. It was just a mess of visions and time travelling and I got so confused.
Every great legend begins with that one person who raises an angry fist to the sky and flips off the gods in defiance.
Acheron was right.
And that was what Nick had been doing since the moment he came into this world as a sick baby. Defying the odds. Defying expectation. Defying authority.
Defying his destiny.
And he had no plans to change his ways now. He knew no other way to be. “All right. Point me to the hell-monkeys. It’s time to make them my bitches.”

As always, when ever I get my hands on the Goddess Sherrilyn Kenyon's books I can't put it down. It's like I'm literally there in the book with her characters. Cheering on the good guys and booing the bad ones. My heart at times gets caught in my throat and the way her mind puts in the twists and turns floors me. I never know what is going on. Other books at times I can tell, never with Sherrilyn Kenyon's books. All her characters to me are now like family. Ones I would love to have as my own. All I can say to her is thank you, for having such a wonderful mind!
I was actually disappointed in this book. it felt like it was just a connect book and not and individual book in the series
adventurous
dark
funny
mysterious
fast-paced

So much info dumping and world building at such a late point in the series, also a lot of name dropping. Overall a great set up for the last book though.
I have loved the Chronicles of Nick books since I opened Infinity and read "I am a socially awkward man-dork". Everytime I read the lastest books they just keep getting better.
I'm always amazed at how well Sherrilyn Kenyon can portray a teenage boy. Nick is one of my favorite characters of all time and as always I can't wait for the next one.

After Reading:
Probably closer to a 3.5/5. This book was good and all but there's just so many characters now that it's getting kind of hard to keep all the names straight. Not to mention it seems like the plot is always changing.
Before Reading:
WHAT?! THERE'S ALREADY A COVER
WHY DOES NO ONE INFORM ME OF THINGS LIKE THIS
I am now forced to read Instinct before my longing for this series becomes too unbearable.

4.25 stars.
This was so much better than the previous installment.
Zoomed through the story, we got to see a lot of characters (as usual), but unlike the last couple books I wasn't confused or lost on who they were. I remembered most of them and the ones I didn't recognize sounded new.
The ending, WOW. I am so excited for the next book in the series and I can't remember ever feeling that way with the series. At least not at this level.
Great installment in this series. Probably one of my favorites so far.
