The art was incredibly beautiful in this graphic novel and along with the story was swept up into the landscape and world. At once mysterious and scary, while feeling so relatable I found myself invested in this novel. I would recommend this for anyone just wanting an emotionally poignant read and beautiful art work.

Favorite quote: "I spent my early twenties working so hard and fast... and I never once asked myself how I was doing it all. And now I'm fucking paralyzed but I don't know how to deal with it because I've never let myself slow down before."

I didn't realise it was magical realism, so that made it tense and confusing for a bit (it also didn't help that the explantation of these elements wasn’t clearly explained). the characters and their journeys and the mystery element of it really keep you going. You really do grow to love these characters though. 
The art style and color choices are beautiful. 
I could see myself coming back to this book when im having a tough time.
