Thank you, Brittany, for sending me an ARC copy for a review!
Okay, I am the biggest football fan, so of course I had to dive into this book when I had the chance! And oh my goodness, it was really cute.
Just imagine Katy Perry's "Waking Up in Vegas" becoming a book, and you get the first few chapters of this one! Sweet Savannah is at UNLV teaching a cheer/dance camp while it's the off season (she's a pro cheerleader for an NFL team). She is constantly being told she's not being sexy enough on the field, and she's pretty self conscious about it. Her friends at the camp take her out on the town to let loose and have some fun.
Enter Tyler Matthews.
He's hot, he sees Savannah and claims her to his friends, and takes her out. She's pretty drunk, he gets decently drunk and BAM! She wakes up in his hotel room and they are married. Of course he's an NFL player. And even more of course that he's a football play on the team she cheers for. Fraternizing with the players is a big NO in the cheer rulebook. Ty doesn't want to let her go, so he strikes a deal. We get a fake marriage trope.
I really enjoyed the characters. Tyler is the sweetest (golden retriever) and I love that he and Savannah have things to work on, and they help each other work on those things. His nickname Peaches...yes please.
If you want a quick, cute read with some yummy football players, this is a great one for you!

This book has me swooning from the beginning. Tyler the playboy football player and Savannah the cheerleader for his pro football team, meet and get married in Vegas after one night. Instead of immediately getting an annulment they decide to continue the marriage for both their benefits. What neither of them planned for was actual feelings to get involved.
Tyler turned into the biggest sweetheart for Savannah helping her overcome her issues, and Savannah helped him cope with his family issues and his portrayed image.
I loved how Brittany gave these characters depth, and had them experience real life problems and weren’t perfect. It made the book more real, and made me love it that much more.
I definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes sports romance with a love at first sight plot and no third act breakup!

"i remember it all. I wish I remembered it better, but I would do it all over again. Savannah, you...you're incredible. I regret so many of the choices and stupid decisions I've made in my life, but you're not one of them. That night isn't one of them"
can you even?! Against the Rules combines a few of my favorite tropes and I LOVED it. Ty and Savannah drunkedly marry in Vegas and then chaos ensues. It is uncharacteristic for them both and they have to figure out how to handle it. Ty is such a perfect book boyfriend. The way he supports and loves Savannah all along is beautiful. And Savannah's work ethic is unmatched.
It is so fun to watch this husband and wife try not to fall in love all while trying to keep their secrets. If you love marriage of convenience, football romance and even getting some insights into professional cheerleading, i highly recommend this book (and series)!

This book was SO sweet! Brittany Kelley definitely knows how to write top-tier men 🥵
What I loved about this book more than the previous is how much both Savannah and Tyler wanted to better themselves through therapy and the way they encouraged each other. Mental health is a huge theme in this book, and in the best possible way!!
Can’t wait to (hopefully) get Cameron & Jacob’s story next! 🥰

OMG! I absolutely loved that book. Tyler and Savannah are such a cute couple and they are the sweetest human beings. I loved their relationship. Tyler is a great caring husband. Every time he called Savannah Peaches or his wife, it made my heart melt. He is such a golden retriever.
I also enjoyed seeing the different family dynamics present in the book as I think many of us can relate to them.
The book really doesn’t shy away from heavy topics such eating disorder. It is a nice continuation of the first book (Against the Clock) which allows us to learn more about Kelsey’s article and the cheerleading business.
Overall a cute fun quick read. And it’s even better than the first one.
I’m also waiting for a Cameron and Jacob book.

Thank you to Brittany Kelley and Ally White for sending me an arc copy to read and review!
This was so adorable! I loved both the main characters and how well they complimented each other - I could really feel their chemistry. Everything the mmc did for the fmc made me smile like an idiot and I adored how much of a golden retriever he was. I also loved that this book didn’t shy away from heavier topics (tw for eating disorders) while also remaining such a cute read.
I will, however, say that this was a bit too insta-lovey for me. I can deal with insta lust but I’m not a huge fan of insta-love. I appreciated that it took the fmc a lot longer to admit her feelings than the mmc did as I felt as though his feelings were a bit too rushed and not explained enough.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this book!

I’m pretty sure I’m on a book slump after this book. IT WAS THAT GOOD! If you liked the first one in this series you will definitely love this one!
Savannah and Tyler are such a great couple so sweet and protective of each other and HOT AF! The spice? The chemistry? OUT OF THIS WORLD! And they’re so sweet it’s sickening.
But you know a thing I really, really found amazing? How it normalises asking for professional help for your issues. IT IS OK TO ASK FOR HELP!
I loved this book with all my heart and I know more will come in this series and I will love them as well because Brittany is definitely becoming one of my must read authors.
