I'm a sucker thrillers where everyone is stuck on an island and a sucker for books set in New England. So, I gave this one a shot.

I read a lot of cheap paperback thrillers, and this was one of the most amateurish. It was predictable, the characters were poorly written.

It's full of offensive tropes and bad writing. It's just bad. Don't read it.

This was the second book I have read by Staub. She has quickly become one of my favorite authors. This story was creepy & suspenseful. This was one of my favorites of all her books I have read.

This book was challenging because I enjoyed the set-up, but it just never gained momentum for me.  The characters were super gullible and did not have much, if any, common sense.  There were so many moments, I struggled to deal with their poor choices.  Ultimately, the ending was decent and I always enjoy a isolated island in a storm setting.
