of all the authors names i expected to see in a children’s novel it wasn’t Haruki Murakami and Mikhail Bulgakov.

this one was kind of meh for me; i skimmed past the singing and found myself skimming the formulaic parts (you know the ones) but i liked Hal bc i too want to work in a records room away from people and not be bothered by children.

They just CANNOT catch one break. I want ONE thing to work out in their favor.

Wow- I thought this series would stop shocking me but I was dead wrong. So many twists and turns in this one, and it had the orphans in the craziest predicament yet!

Overall: 4.5⭐️

Not a lot of new stuff in this one. Someone from the fire might be alive is about it.

I love how things are starting to come together. I can't wait to find out about certain things.
As with the previous book, I felt so anxious reading this - I don't know how kids are supposed to read these and not be terrified lol

Ok there were actually some funny parts in this one and there were actual stakes, and the big picture story is starting to take shape. Shame it took 7 books to get here.

Loved the whole "filing" thing, ridiculously true to life from my experience. The whole book was, again, terrific. I'm almost bored of talking about how terrific it is and what a wonderful job Snicket is doing. The whole mystery is really starting to amp itself up.
