While I am grateful that this book essentially excelerated vampire content into pop. culture, it was not exactly what I expected.
It is riddled with misogyny and verbose passages that made it a difficult read. Much of the time I found myself dreading picking it up due to its excruciatingly slow pace, but I persevered.
I must admit that there are exciting scenes (which I will not be explicitly mentioned to avoid spoilers), but my final complaint is that there were not enough of them to keep a reader hooked and an excess of "filler".

The plot of Dracula is phenomenal but the execution is terrible. Bram Stoker is long winded and includes far too much unnecessary information.
I love the concept of retelling a story through journal entries, but oh Lordy, Stoker is verbose. The majority of the story revolves around chasing Dracula. There are some charming elements as the tale of Lucy and the last 10 pages were fantastic. I think the final conclusion is rather lackluster considering all the buildup in the novel to catch the ultimate evil.
