I was reading Colson Whitehead's The Underground Railroad, but I had to put it down because of all the torture porn. So looking for something a little lighter, funny even and a had heard of this book somewhere and bought it on my Kindle. And there it sat. But a review liner said it was funny, so I started reading it. Little did I know I would be getting into another book dealing with black America, sort of.

But be that as it may, it is an odd, yet enjoyable little book based, sort of, on the ending to Edgar Allen Poe's only novel, The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket. But updated and with a number of odd twists and lots of commentary on being black in America today.

Needless to say, I enjoyed it.

A fun caper, a little overlong, kind of loses track of itself. But definitely a fun time
