Biggest waste of time! BoRiNg!!!! Author says By and by so many time!!!

This year's Man Booker longlist seemed very interesting to me so, I've decided to read all the books on it, or, at least, most of them. I've been hearing that this one was the most "simple" out of them so I figured it would be a good place to start.

This is family story. The story covers three generations of the Whitshank family. The interesting thing about it is that the narrative doesn't follow a "common" timeline. It keeps jumping back and forward. This could make everything confusing but it flows so perfectly that you never feel lost. You could say that this is a slow book but from the first page I felt hooked to the story and to this family. I couldn't put the book down and ended up finishing it within two days. The storyline and the characters are so interesting and relatable that I couldn't help but keep reading. There were some characters I enjoyed reading about more than others but overall I really loved the reading experience!

If you like books about family and don't mind slow plots, I would totally recommend you check this one out!

Beautiful book but so sad. Funny how l inadvertently picked two fiction books to read in a row that go in reverse order.

No beginning or end. Just a really long middle.

Agonizingly boring and just not my kind of book. I listened to it as an audiobook. Had I been reading it I'm pretty sure I would have given up on it. A Spool of Blue Thread is about the lifetime of a family. No real ups or downs just their regular, boring, old lives.
slow-paced

This is a fairly short book about the Whitshank family. It reminded me a lot of "Saint Maybe," which I loved. I read this in a day and became very invested in some of the characters -- so much so that I finished the book thinking, "Okay, but what happens next?" Fans of Anne Tyler will enjoy this.
