Julia Quinn

If you are reading newer prints of the other Bridgerton books than you have access of the 2nd epilogue that previous copies did not include. So most of this book is not necessary. However, it does include Violet's story. Over the course of the other eight novels I've loved Violet and the wisdom she shares with her children. I hoped to one day read of her own love story with Edmund. This novella was brief but sweet and I'm so happy to have had the glimpse into their life together. I do wish there was more though

Beautiful

I had read the epilogues and second epilogues with the books themselves, so I was only reading this for Violet’s portion. It was lovely and moving in a way I didn’t expect. Quinn is an author of many talents - fun, banter, sexiness, and the underlying human dynamics and fundamentals of attachments all run rampant through her novels.

The only reason why I had borrowed this was to read Violet's story with Edmund (she totally deserves an entire book! 😭) and it was very well worth it. Julia Quinn was genius when she decided to publish this as it contained a little sequel to all of the Bridgerton books, and I am in love with every single one of them! 🥰 Unlike the Netflix series, you get to understand Violet and Edmund's story deeply and how she had to overcome his death to be a single parent to her eight children — she's truly the best mama one could ask for. I do hope that she eventually gets a whole book on her life as part of the series (as unlikely as that might be). It's also amazing to get to see all of the Bridgerton siblings be parents to a new generation, and I wonder if Netflix will adapt this portion as well eventually. Overall, this was a really chill and fun read and definitely one you have to do if you're reading the entire series! 💯

I think you might really enjoy this if you really love the characters and just want more stories about them, but I was already happy with how each book ended so these were just okay. The only part I really wanted to read was Hyacinth’s and I was happy with it. I will say that I enjoyed Eloise, Gregory and Francesca’s parts as well. Unless you really want to read 50 more pages about each character, I would skip this book.

*I skipped Violet’s novella because I didn’t care to read it

This was a cute idea. Adding little novellas to finish out each of the storylines, AND adding a storyline for Mama! Truly a happily ever after.
