Silver Bells is a book filled with sweet innocent love stories and their beginnings. I really enjoyed the idea of the book, to give readers a glimpse of new authors work. These stories are a tad bit boring but i think its okay to be boring in this setting. One thing that bothered me a little, just a half a star worth, is the names of some of the characters. For example the first story is about a woman named Kitty. Which just seemed entirely too juvenile for the story. It's hard to take her seriously as a proper polite woman when her name is kitty. Also the Prince in this story, the fact that he was old and couldn't speak english very well didn't seem realistic. If he is a prince of an old age you would think he has had a lot of practise speaking it, with princely duties you might think they would involve learning languages. For what this book was about, I think that it is worth a read if you love historical innocent romances. But if that's not your thing, I might recommend you skip!

Fairy Christmas :
Kitty’s world fell apart a year before this story starts, but it’s ready to fall apart again!
After being adopted by a loving family, all she wants is Mr. Tom Allenby. When she reads a letter not intended for her, though, she actually comes to terms with reality. But maybe sometimes, things are not as they always seem. And she is met with an unexpected surprise!

A Christmas Promise :
OMG! At first, I could not make sense of the beginning. I couldn’t really get why begin that way and then go on the other…. The story, as it evolved, it didn’t help.
So, we witness the telling of a very sweet story, set in Ireland of two people that fall instantly in love…. The bad thing is, there is always Rufus, to *help* them behave.
And then comes the conclusion… and it blew me away! No doubt at all, I had not had such surprise in a book, for quite some time!

Twelve months :
A good story, though it was predictable. I think it needed some more time exploring the characters and maybe a twist in the storyline somewhere. But then again, it might simply not be my cup of tea….

A Fezziwig Christmas :
A short story full of excitement! It was actually contagious! I really liked it and they way things turned out with all the suitors. What I did not like in the story is the use of Ebenezer Scrooge and his name.

A taste of home :
Such a sweet story and that applies in several meanings… I like the way of what is obvious to us, gets explained throughout the story. Add a very good ending and this is a must read from this anthology!

My Modern girl :
What happens when your dream job, may not actually be the dream you thought it was? When Margie leaves for New York, she leaves Henry behind, thinking she needs to change herself into something else. I really enjoyed the way she realized exactly what she needed!

All in all, it is a very good anthology. I would prefer the stories being longer, but then it wouldn’t be an anthology.

Overall, these stories were cute. I don't love historical books and some of the terminology I didn't understand. My favorite story was A Christmas Promise. The Irish accent of the narrator was great to listen to and the story was funny. I also liked Taste of Home because it was set in my home state and I got to recognize some of the places it mentioned. Nice book to get you in the Christmas spirit.
