Death on the Shelf by Allison Brook has Carrie getting excited about her best friend's wedding.

Will Carrie's help in solving Aidan's death be good for Angela's family in the long run?

Carrie Singleton is one of four bridesmaids for Angela's wedding and is very excited to attend. Thanks to her brother's drama, Angela has been in a frenzy until her wedding day.

I like to think that Carrie has grown from the first book into being this upstanding citizen that we, the readers, can see in this latest novel. Carrie is a fantastic character that keeps me wanting to come back and cheer her on with her smallest of victories.

Angela takes more of an approach to helping Carrie solve this mystery which I'm glad to see. These two friends are an excellent pairing, and they do great at finding clues together.

The Mystery
Carrie Singleton gets asked by several people in Angela's family, including Angela herself, to look into Aidan's murder. The reason is that many people in that family have a motive for this particular murder. At least a few significant people do. I must admit I fell for a red herring but quickly recovered and figured it out. The people in Angela's family are a crazy bunch, but that's family for you.

Five Stars
Death on the Shelf by Allison Brook kept me thoroughly entertained and in love with the story from the first page. I ultimately feel bad for Steve and Angela, thanks to Aidan dying at their wedding. Ms. Brook has a fantastic way of storytelling that keeps the reader hooked. I am giving Death on the Shelf by Allison Brook five stars and recommend it to all cozy mystery fans. One good thing about this series is that you can read it out of order and still get what is happening.

Thank you for dropping by! I hope you enjoyed this review of Death on the Shelf by Allison Brook.

Until the next time,

I’ve followed the Haunted Library Mystery series from the beginning, and I always know I’m going to love the next book. Death on a Shelf is no exception. I adore the dynamics between Carrie & Evelyn (the resident library ghost), and their scenes are inevitably my favorites, though I always love the swoony scenes between Carrie & Dylan too. The author does a great job of capturing the sort of tension that is unique to weddings & the family drama they seem to stir up… and when you throw a couple of murders into the mix, too, well you can imagine all the emotions that are flaring. She weaves these elements together along with a couple of subplots and a slew of suspects to deliver a mystery that proves challenging to amateur sleuths on and off the page. Another excellent installment in this cozy series!
