3.92 AVERAGE

this book never really let up on the gas, even though nothing big happened until the end we had all of these lies and truths coming out the whole book and it made me dizzy šŸ™ƒ.

we have so much to unpack in book 3 so that needs to come out ASAP. I need the revenge plot, I need Phoebe & Rocky happy, I need Hailey to choose, and I also need to know who is the dad? I GOTS TA KNOW.

I have too many thoughts going on after finishing this book but I do know that I loved it and I cant wait for Dangerously Ours.

I'm so grateful to the authors and Valentine PR for providing me with this ARC!
I couldn’t put this book down — it’s the perfect blend of heart, schemes, and second chances! From the very first page, I was completely hooked. Phoebe is such a beautifully complex character: tough yet vulnerable, fiercely loyal yet constantly caught between her past and her dreams of a better future.
Watching her try to build an honest life in an elite Connecticut town while managing her complicated feelings for Rocky was utterly addictive. Rocky is everything: loyal, protective, and so gentle with Phoebe in a world that taught them both to be guarded. Their chemistry leaps off the page, and the way he believes in her, even when she doubts herself, had me seriously blushing.
While Phoebe’s fake relationship with Jake Waterford brings all the delicious tension you could want, it’s clear her real heart belongs to Rocky — and their stolen moments are absolute magic. Rocky isn’t just a love interest; he’s a grounding force, showing Phoebe what real love and trust can look like.
The sudden reappearance of the Goodmothers adds another layer of intrigue, pulling Phoebe and Hailey back into the world of deception they’ve been trying to escape. The emotional stakes climb higher with every chapter, and the story masterfully blends humor, heartbreak, and hope.
This book is for anyone who loves messy, unforgettable characters, jaw-dropping twists, fierce women fighting for their happiness, and romances that feel like home. I laughed, I swooned, and I rooted for them every step of the way. Easily one of my favorite reads of the year — I’m obsessed!

4.25 stars

Destructively Mine was a serious level-up from book one for me. Everything just flowed better this time around—the pacing felt tighter, the emotional beats hit harder without dragging, and best of all, the side characters really came to life. It felt more like an ensemble cast now, and I loved that shift. There’s still angst, but the story moves. I wasn’t constantly waiting for something to happen—it was happening the whole time.

Rocky and Phoebe still have their beautifully tense, complicated thing going on (they’re allergic to a smooth relationship, clearly). I did like that they were together finally and we could see less fighting and more of their dynamics with the other characters.

I liked the group scenes a lot. Everyone had a role, and even the chaos felt intentional. The Hailey/Oliver/Jake situation got me really excited. I’m hoping they end up being throuple and not a love triangle. I wish they had their own books (maybe in the future).

This one didn’t just improve on book one—it made me more excited for the series as a whole. The world feels bigger, the characters more tangled, and the emotional stakes keep rising. Can’t wait to see where the fallout lands in the next one.

The 2 books are good, I’m invested in the characters and I’m pissed of at what Trever did but whatever. I will read the next books when they come out but it’s not the best thing in the world
