I'm honestly not sure what to think about this book. My initial qualms were that I remembered soo little from reading Dishonestly Yours last summer. I WISH the book gave more subtle recaps early on in the book - there are so many things going on that I was so lost and had to go find other reviews that gave full recaps of book one. I strongly feel that if I read this book closer to book one I would have enjoyed it more.

At times I was so invested in the mystery of the characters backgrounds, and then they would start having these obscure conflicts or conversations where it made no sense and just felt like unnecessary filler to the book. Jake's involvement in this book made kinda sense, but also didnt. The book itself felt too long and without reason. The romance between Rocky and Pheobe felt very low-importance and was just there for super random spice scenes.

What in the world was going on with Hailey? Was she this quirky in book one and I just dont remember? The characters all have such weird side stories that paying attention to each of them felt impossible and I really ended up losing the feelings of investment in all stories. By 70% I was just drained and ready for the story to be over, then of course the last 20% was pure chaos and I loved it.

Sorry my review for this book is basically "I honestly dont know whther I liked this book or not."
Sorry, not sorry (but kinda sorry). I loveeed book one and this one was just a totally different experience for me reading.

Thank you NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for an eARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

 💭 Thoughts:
I honestly love the twins style of writing. It took me a minute to get back into this universe but once I was in, I was IN.

The second book in the Webs We Weave series. The series follows two families who are con artists.

I loved seeing more of the siblings interactions and getting some questions answered after the first book’s cliffhanger 👀

Many twists and turns - some I predicted, others I did not.

Character chemistry platonic, familial and romantic was expertly executed.

I felt that the end of the book came to a random halt and I’m glad there was a hint at the next book otherwise I would have been confused if the series had ended or if we were due more books. But I’m so excited that there is going to be more.

I’m hoping for more Nova and more Oliver in book 3 🤞🏼

These books are such messes. But they’re fun messes.

I was counting down the days for Destructively Mine after falling head over heels for the first book in the series. The characters instantly pulled me in, and I couldn’t wait to see how their stories unfolded. This series does such a great job balancing the push and pull between family loyalty and the desire to carve out your own path. There’s this raw emotional tension around choosing what’s best for yourself while still feeling tied to your roots—even when those roots are tangled or morally messy.

In this second book, long-buried truths finally rise to the surface. We get deeper insight into the six friends and siblings—how their pasts shaped them, how their relationships intertwine, and how their bonds with their parents continue to influence them. It’s a powerful look at how family trauma, shared memories, and personal growth all collide. The story reminds us that family isn’t just about blood—it’s about connection, understanding, and the people who stand by you through the hard stuff. I’m so excited to see where these authors take the series next!

Woah. I liked the first book in this series but I LOVED the second one!! I’m late to reviewing my ARC of this one but that’s not because I don’t love it! I love Pheobe, she is for the strawberry girls!!!!!!! Rocket again does the “hates everyone but her” trope PERFECTLY! We get the perfect amount of spice from them while also keeping fully focused on the overall plot.

I like that we are following Pheobe and Rocky but for this book, the “side characters” stole the show for me! Jake has my HEART! I need to give Hailey a hug. Someone needs to hold Oliver! And Trevor…. I’m speechless.

I love this family on con artist and I love watching them plan out everything even when the plan gets screwed up. I will definitely be looking for the next one

Thanks NetGalley and Berkeley Publishing Group for the arc

"The way he stares so deeply into me, as if he's carving out chunks of my soul and inscribing himself there. If I weren't stubborn, maybe I'd be shy. Maybe I'd blush. But I want to intrude on his soul, too."

Phoebe and Rocky have such a special relationship and I love reading about them.

I also liked that we got a little more expansion of the family dynamics and the different relationships within these two families. However, the mystery behind all the kids' parentage wasn't that captivating to me and some aspects were pretty easily guessable.

I also feel like Phoebe and Rocky were on the sidelines a lot, and the most interesting arcs, given to Haily and Trevor, were therefore only barely explored. And the ending also felt a little rushed to me and ended up being a little anticlimactic just due to pure luck on the families' part.

I'm still curious to see how the rest of the story plays out though, and the romance part is still really exciting to read about, so I'm looking forward to book 3.

"It's attractive - how much Rocky can read into my actions like I'm an open book, when I feel like I've always lived untouched and lost on a dusty shelf. How long has he held the pages of who I am? How long has he loved each messy line?"

"She's been everything to me for too many years. It's been a marriage of both convenience and inconvenience. Of pure love and pure hell, and I wouldn't give up one to have the other. They coexist unnaturally, but nothing about us has ever been normal. So you don’t need to scrounge around for a fucking term for what we are together because there isn't going to be one bone-deep enough that fits."

"Because loving you is a crime I'll keep committing. I don't know how to stop."

"There will never be a day, a night, a minute, a moment, a breath where you aren’t destructively mine."

5🌟-

ONE OF MY MOST ANTICIPATED READS FOR 2025!!!
I don't think anything I read by Krista & Becca Ritchie will be rated below a 4 star. This book gave me everything I wanted and yet I still have so many questions after reading this !!! K&B definitely how to keep me on the hook! The K&B knows how to write a damn good found family trope. I love all six of these characters. ( I see what you did there K&B, another ✨core six✨ but make it triplets that are the siblings) Phoebe has my fucking heart. Rocky?? Added to the book boyfriend list.

🕸️🍓 "I believe in our love. I believe in the love that's high voltage, the love that raises dead towns. The love that keeps you running when you're on empty. The love that falls down with you- just so it can be there to drag you back up. I believe in love that has no room for failure because all it knows how to do is survive.
I believe in our love-the love of six people who only had each other to trust and lean on.
All I know is our love.🕸️🍓

Spoiler-y thoughtssss
Okay, lets talk about what we learned in Dishonestly yours. When Trevor was stabbed he lost a lot of blood and therefore needed a blood transplant. Because they were all taught to not leave any paperwork behind, they obviously cannot take him to a hospital. With this we learn that Trevor biologically cannot be related to Rocky and Hailey. He has a completely different blood type. So of course, believing that their parents were the parents of all three of them wasn't for Trevor rocked their whole world. We see just how much it rocked Hailey in this book. She's obsessed with figuring out who they are and why their parents tell them they need to wrap up the con they assume is going on and get the hell out. So of course, that makes all of them look back and think about the cons they had done and they realized they had never done a con in Connecticut. I loved seeing how helpful Jake became and why he needed Phoebe's help. I love how sweet he is and I trust him wholeheartedly now. Please don't hurt my feelings guys. I love Jake. I hated how broken up Hailey became because of all this. I did love to see that Oliver was her safe space. I love them together. Oliver is obviously in love with her but knows that they can't be together while she is in the state that she is. ALSO the BOMBS that DROPPED at the very end?!?! Trevor murdering Jake's mom?!?!  Varrick being the triplets father?!? Hailey being pregnant?!?! and We don't know who the father is ?!?! My jaw was on the fucking floor. I cannot wait for the next one. I need it now. 😭😭😭😭

Anyway, I will be mourning the fact that I don't have the next book for the foreseeable future. Thank you Larissa Cambusano (@larryreads) for introducing me to these wonderful authors.
