I'm pretty sure I just picked this book up because of the Star Trek reference, but it kept my attention to the end.

Unlike most post-apocalyptic books that are incredibly violent and take the opportunity to scare you witless, this one takes a new slant--bad weird people are out there, but there's mostly just isolation. I would read this one again in a few years.

This story was beautifully written. I liked the jumps in both time and character-focus throughout the book. The pacing felt natural during these shifts.

For dealing with rather dark themes, the overall feel of the book was very hopeful. It felt like a ode to the small wonders all around us and the power of the connections that we make with the people around us.

It’s been a long time since a novel brought me to tears. Station Eleven did that. Beautiful, reflective, captivating, thought-provoking.
