I had been wanting to read this for so long and I'm so glad it lived up to all my expectations!
I read this in two sittings, One was short and the other was all day until I finished because I couldn't put it down!
Caelena is such an amazing and surprising character. She may be able to kill many men with ease, but she makes it known that she is girly and likes wearing dresses and going to parties. I liked this about her. Even though she's been brought up learning to fight and living dangerously, she still has spunk and a sense of humour.
This wasn't like your common book about an assassin winning her freedom by battling it out with other evil beings of the underworld, there was mystery, horror and magic too.
Oh and I can't leave out the romance. This part of the book was a little bit predictable, but that didn't stop my heart from fluttering. Unfortunately she didn't end up with who I was hoping she would (which I've read that's how a lot of other people feel too). Hopefully something may happen in the next books.
I love this world and I can't wait to return. I wonder where I'll be taken next.
