I freaking loved this and will be reading the second one! All the magic, all the mystery! Amari is a great main character, Elsie is a great side character/friend, and I loved the twist! I honestly wasn't expecting it, but I'm not good at guessing twists in books. I can't wait to see where magic leads Amari, and how she's going to deal with everything that has happened.

THIS WAS INCREDIBLE!!! Definitely one of my favourite reads of this year so far. It was so enjoyable that I hated putting it down. I was so obsessed with the world Alston created; he made me desperately want a job at the Bureau of Supernatural Affairs (specifically in the Department of Hidden Spaces)!! The pacing was impeccable. All the characters were fantastic, but I especially LOVED Amari as our main character and her narrative voice. I cannot wait to pick up the sequel.
