I thoroughly enjoyed this book and watching the mystery of the situation unfold. As the main character embraces what makes her special, even though it's something people use to demean her, you get to watch a young Black girl step into her power and defy all the negative stereotypes that are levied against her.

I absolutely loved this!!! Obviously it wasn’t as nuanced as the books I usually read as it’s written for much younger audiences but otherwise I really really enjoyed this and didn’t find it being middle grade to be an issue at all
