I wish I had read this book closer to when I read Ninth House because I liked it but it was hard for me to remember the nuances of the first book and that made the plot difficult to get through in the beginning. I also don’t recommend reading this book when your school workload is very heavy because you will put it down for about 2 months and it will take you forever to finish it. That being said when I did read it I had a good time and I’m looking forward to the next one.

I enjoyed Hell Bent a lot more than its predecessor, Ninth House. In many ways, this was the book I was expecting Ninth House to be.

Because much of the world-building has been covered in NH, HB delves straight into the action from the off. There’s lots crammed into the pages, and Bardugo’s writing is as great as ever.

It’s not without its flaws though, there were a few odd plot points that I’m looking forward to discussing with my buddy-reading gals.
