Prepare yourselves, this is just a rant and don’t take this seriously in your choice to judge the book.

Sixth book in the interconnected The Men Series, each book can be read as a standalone. Every book in the series is a great read so I’d recommend starting with book 1 and enjoying the whole series.

This book focuses on Reed and Harley’s story. Reed is running for mayor of New York, he needs to clean up his playboy image and asks for Harley’s help. He knows she’s working two jobs and agrees to pay well for her to be his fake girlfriend. Although Harley doesn’t think a lot of her boss’s best friend, as far as she’s concerned he visits Griffin’s office too frequently, she does need the money and playing house and the role of the future Mrs Walker should be easy.

Reed and Harley’s relationship starts with great verbal battles and laugh inducing events, then the attraction and chemistry starts to develop and they find themselves not having to act the part. Events from their pasts start to impact their relationships and this becomes such an emotional story, have tissues handy.

I loved this book because it delivered on so many levels, I felt so many emotions and ended with a happy heart. It also left me with such a book hangover. I hope we see more of them in the next book of the series.

I would have loved the book way more if the FMC was a touch less annoying and stopped making stupid decisions on topics she didn't understand fully. The miscommunication trope had me lose interest at 50% of the book, and I had to push through to finish.
The only reason I wanted to finish it was that it was otherwise extremely well written, with relatable characters with depth.
Major TW for people who can't read anything on rape though, as it's one of the major part of the plot and is discussed throughout the whole book.

This book. Wow!

I loved it!! Reed is so tender and romantic, despite how he was portrayed in his first appearances! Reed is so a protective even if it affects his job!

He has a down right filthy mouth! He is insatiable! There was so much fantastic spice! It was hot, as in catalina reaper hot!!

Harley. Wow. She is such an angel, she is so adorable. Even when she tries to help Reed for when their fake relationship is over, when it has barely begun.

While Griffin may still be at war with the pigeons, Reed has Beryl and Bruce; Hayley’s plants! I picture Harley was Margot Robbie in her Harley Quinn persona whenever she talks to her plants! The way she talks to and loves her plants, is so sweet.

However…

This book is so emotional. It hits you like a dead weight out of nowhere once ✨it✨ is revealed. It hits and you don’t expect to be that emotional in a book with such filthy spice. But you do.

It was a rollercoaster of emotions in one book. Wow!!

Thank you Elle Nicoll for an advanced copy for an honest review.
