The writing wasn't the best, but the storyline was good and easy to follow. It liked that the author switched between characters and we saw different perspectives of prison and real world life. I was confused about a couple things though. Who was the narrator during the motorcycle chapters who broke into the family's house with the axel? We never heard a name for the person. Why was Gordon unable to look up Romy on the internet? Was that her real name? Just kinda suspicious.

It took me three weeks to get get halfway through this book. I finally gave up. The writing is excellent and I see what Kushner is attempting but I had no connection to any of the characters.
