Enjoyable, but I think has problems with its structure and character actions. It takes a while to get going, jumping around in time and introducing characters, but once we get to the Davin plague moon it found its place.
The second half after Horus' fall was too exposition heavy and ended up dragging.
I did also think some characters made strange choices by the end, usually relating to those around Loken. Why not talk of Erebus' betrayal? Why leave Varvarus and Karkasy alive for so long?
Nothing to detract majorly from the book, but enough to point out.
