It was good, not my favorite, but good. I just couldn’t connect with Mishe and Asar as I did with Raihn and Oraya, their love story didn’t seem believable or earned enough from the beginning to be honest. The plot is interesting and I love Carissa’s prose (though the alliteration got a bit repetitive by the end), so I’ll read the next one for sure, but this duology was not my favorite.

Oh boy what am I supposed to do with myself now? Carissa Broadbent has some of the most beautiful writing I've read. I loved the tender love between Asar and Miche and it was the perfect example of showing their connection vs telling us. Watching both of them overcome their trauma and realizing they don't need to sacrifice themselves was beautiful. I love how each book has expanded the world bit by bit, and this book put all the pieces together. The glossary was super helpful because I kept forgetting who some of the gods were. Also bonus points for Luce. Such a good girl

In love with this series! Each storyline brings its own "vibe" for lack of a better word. The first duology seemed faster paced than this one, but each duology (and novella) works to build a complex world and suit the characters they are focusing on. While this storyline read slower, I found Mische & Asar's story to be achingly sad and beautiful - the conclusion of which had me STRESSED until the bitter end (in the best way)!

I think Mische is one of my favorite book characters. I loved reading her and Asar’s growth. This book definitely was an emotional roller coaster, but I couldn’t put it down
