This series has been my roman empire for months, and this book delivered exactly what I wanted and needed it to.
The story kept at a steady pace, unravelling small details that would become important later on. I really tried to take my time reading it, but the way Broadbent writes, encompassing you seamlessly into her world, makes it hard for you to put her books down.
I cannot wait for the next one.

This is a beautiful and poignant ending to the Shadowborn duology. Asar absolutely worships Mische and while I adored that intensity, I’ll admit it sometimes wore on me because he literally keeps tearing the world apart for her.
The story itself is rich and immersive, with fantasy world-building that pulled me in from the start. At times it did feel a little repetitive, but the payoff at the end was so powerful and moving that it easily made up for it.
💯 Recommend if you love romantasy with a strong emphasis on the fantasy side.

I felt a little disconnected from this book but it was still a fab story!
While a bit slow to start, “The Fallen and the Kiss of Dusk,” does exactly what a sequel should do. It ups the stakes (by a LOT) and broadens the entire world. Characters change and shift, especially Mische! All in all, once this train gets moving (and it does take some time of multiple brooding chapters from both Asar and Mishe’s POV) it really does get interesting. Gods and goddesses wage war, fates are changed and tested and of course, some very nice spice 😉 This book absolutely transported me to other worlds. Totally all-encompassing!

I have loved all of the other Nyaxia books but something about this duet just didn't connect well for me. I wanted to love it but it just didn't have the same hook as the other stories. I also found some of the storyline complicated and confusing and still don't feel like I totally know what happened. Like why wasn't the day restored? I will still continue to read the final books because overall the series is excellent.

I love Mische's story, but can't help feeling that it could have been told in one slightly longer book rather than two.
The ups and downs and roundabout way we reached the ending grew a little tiresome, and as much as I love Mische and Asar, it felt as though there were too many complexities and plot twists added just to bulk the story out.
I am glad I read it, and glad I know where the story is going to go next, I think I may even know one of the lead protagonists of the next duet. However, there are elements that could have been much briefer.

I loved Mische and Asar’s story. They both helped heal each other along their journey and deserve nothing but happiness. I am excited to read about Septimus in the next book!

Ahhhh I loved the conclusion of Mische and Asar’s story so much! I loved the inclusion of Raine and Orya as well without making it about them. I need more of all of these characters asap! I cannot wait for the next duet. 😍💕
