This book was a complete trudge to get through. Everytime I picked it up I was so bored. This is probably it for me with this series. There are too many other fantasy series with way more interesting plots and couples I actually care about.

Having a protagonist that you can feel their empathy and compassion coming off the pages makes you fall so much more in love with them, and especially when there’s 2. Their love story is beautiful, the world building is amazing. And who doesn’t love pups. Honestly mvp is luce, the best girl.
Can’t wait for the next books, the epilogue revealed something I didn’t even see coming.

This deserves 10 stars!!! I loved it so much, Carissa is truly an incredible author. The world building is top notch always, but this felt even more immersive than book 1 of the shadowborn duet. We get to learn a lot more about the gods and each of their twisted motivations for things. Getting Asar’s POV throughout the book made me love him even more (see: “I don’t care. I don’t care. I don’t care). Their love is beyond beautiful and they have to fight through so many different dangers to get their HEA. We get even more crazy, dark monsters in this and the plot is nonstop hurtling towards a gods war. I laughed, I swooned, I cried. God tier book!
