This blackout poetry was a neat way to do poetry. I’ve never found the appeal of poetry, but Kate Baer’s poems have been an unexpected surprise. I like this idea of taking a comment or some other blurb and blacking out certain words to make a poem. It’s really neat how she can take something negative and make it into something beautiful. I listened to this, but I think it would be really good on paper!

I know nothing of Kate Baer but can gather from these poems we may not have the same views on everything. Guess what? That's ok. People have a right to use their voices and have their own opinions. I love that Kate is able to take hateful words and repurpose them with love and hope and respect.

This book is beautiful! Her black out poetry has made me look at everything through a poetic lense! Taking negative words and flipping them into positivity is so powerful! This is something I will go back to over and over!
