School rivals? School rivals.

It's a story with a quick pace, the characters made the story so easy to read. The romance happened in a way that feel organic and real. Now i don't know about law school, but this story feel like realistic because compared to the movies didn't feel too hollywood.

3.5 rounded up.

This was a fun, light-hearted enemies to friends to lovers slow burn romance between two first year law students. I loved both of the love interests, the diverse characters, the swoony male lead and ALL the How to get away with murder (without any actual murders) vibes! Good on audio and definitely worth picking up. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early audio copy in exchange for my honest review!

Steam level: kissing only

I was excited to get an ARC of this book (thanks to the publisher and Netgalley!)— a reluctant law student and a law school romance is literally my life. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I found this novel a little underwhelming. There were lots of characters that felt under developed and the progression of the story felt stunted. Silas and Simone were cute and had obvious chemistry, but it wasn’t enough to carry this novel.

The premise of this book caught my eye attention as a women in my late 20s myself who is in the midst of figuring out my career path and whether I should change it but unfortunately this one didn't work out for me.

Truthfully, I DNFed this one.

I didn't love Simone even though I really wanted too. She was very judgmental and completely clueless about the needs of law school (which I understand going to law school was a last minute decision but no research?). I also didn't really feel like Simone and Silas clicked. There wasn't much chemistry between them as a basis of their relationship which made it difficult to root for them as a couple.

Thank you to Netgalley and Entangled Publishing for providing me with an ARC of You've Been Served.

DNF at 35% - I am not one to DNF pretty much anything but this was so painful. Silas was an asshole at every turn but just had to turn his curls on her and she wanted him ... But the real start of the end for me was when he wanted to go to law school bc his friend killed someone drinking and driving and, you know, those months in prison really changed him without good representation. MONTHS. IN. PRISON. As opposed to the dead one.

Also he wants to be a public defender but wants to be in the private sector for awhile for the trial experience -tbat is COMPLETELY backward.

Sorry, I can suspend my disbelief for a lot but not all that.
