I generally like Elise Kova's writing and this is definitely my favourite book in this series. We finally see a growth in confidence for all of our protagonists and especially some communication between them which helps avoid a lot of the plot issues we had before. The conclusion also added a sense of personal stakes to this whole conflict which was great.

Thank you to the author for an eARC copy of this book. Receiving an ARC in no way influenced my thoughts or feelings in this review.

Another insanely good book from Elise. This is the fourth book in the series, and it's held strong the whole way through. Eira has grown so much as a character, along with all her friends, and I loved the introduction of the new players with Adela and her crew. I think this book was an important turning point for Eira's character, and I can't wait to see how everything wraps up in the final book.
There was a lot of character development in the first part of the book, with all the action really occurring in the last 20% or so, but you really don't feel like it's out of balance. Everything blends together so seamlessly in the story.
The writing is very well done, with great continuity between the books. The characters are well developed and likable. I think Adela is my favorite new addition, and I really hope we get to see more of her in the future.
I can't express how much I recommend this series, whether you've read the rest of the air awakens series or not.

Normally I lose interest a bit at the end of the 5 books series but eira stays interesting and ruthless.
