I loved the back and forth from past to future. I loved the structure and that the characters weren't perfect. You could see good in them, but also bad. Love Tristan and Renee A LOT. Samantha's fine too, I see her as similar to me (just more desirable).
It left me with a lot questions , though. About the Montgomery's about Samantha and Tristan – will they marry? Will they have kids? Will they live near Renee? Will the future as Sam imagined happen? What happened to her career? And Tristan's? will Tristan find something he's passionate about again? And Mr. Montgomery – the relationship of the family? How could he not come to the wedding? Will Mrs. M be fine and will find herself? And Sam's parents = practically nonexistent.

3.5 stars.
Honestly I loved this book. I thought the characters were really balanced together and fit so we’ll relationship wise. I was in love with the whole forbidden romance thing! I wish I would have seen more of some more minor characters, because the other friendships could have been built up so much more in my opinion. I didn’t get any overly possessive, borderline abusive male love interest which I love because those tropes are just not my cup of tea. We saw samantha cry a lot(like a lot) and I wish we would have had a really tender cry scene with tristan because his character needed it. Overall it’s a super cute book that I really enjoyed!

This was a fluffy, easy, breezy read. Not life-changing, not the best writing, but fun for what it was. The author NEEEEEEEEDS a proper editor. There were so many typos in this book, and that was really distracting and, for me (a grammar nerd), frustrating.
The female MC is a bit bratty and immature, but then I found that to be pretty age-appropriate for a 23 year old from LA. Her emotional outbursts and poor decisions felt more realistic to me than her bouts of baby fever. Samantha has a lot of growing and learning to do yet, and she's aware of that fact. I identified with her as a people pleaser- when you put the happiness and feelings of others before yourself, sometimes you end up feeling miserable and unfulfilled. And you ultimately hurt people more than if you'd just been honest with them in the first place.
Some people might be icked out by the cheating-ness-ish of the plotline, so if cheating and infidelity are triggers for you, perhaps it's best to steer clear.
There are some cheesy elements to the book, and it's best not to take it too seriously. Ultimately, I liked it for what it was, a fun way to pass a couple rainy evenings. And I LOVED the epilogue. Spoiler alert: I get so annoyed with the obligatory HEA epilogues, where the couples either get engaged, married, or have a baby (or a herd). This epilogue showed that you can give an HEA without the usual romance novel generica. It was a really beautiful epilogue that spoke to the emotional journey of the heroine, her hopes and dreams for the future, and gave her space to grow into the woman she was meant to become without boxing her in.
With a proper editor this author could grow by leaps and bounds.
