Love love love
I absolutely loved this story so so much! I have loved all her books so far but this story just really got to me. I caught myself smiling so much. It gave me all the feels.

My first and favorite Pippa book. Grady and Annika are fabulous.
This book is one of Pippa Grant's finest. The rivalry between Shipwreck and Sarcasm is just slightly over the top and yet perfectly normal if you've ever lived in small-town America. Grady most certainly is a dirty talker and I would do anything to be one of his baked goods. Annika is such a strong, independent woman, which is lovely to see as the female lead character. Their chemistry is off-the-charts perfection. This second chance romance just makes you swoon when you read it. The other stand-out characters are Bailey, Annika's little sister and Sue, Grady's pet goat. If you love a small-town, second chance, romantic comedy with an enemies-to-lovers vibe, this book is for you. It's one of my comfort reads!

Such a sinfully sweet book. Former best friends now rivals/enemies because the two small towns they live in are rivals and despise each other. Funny, sweet, sexy and such great narrators. Loved this.
Oh em gee this book had me laughing so hard! First the way Grady talks to his baked goods will have you fanning your face with your reading device. As always the sidekick animals steal the show in most scenes, and Sue the goat is no exception. Sue the male goat who acts part dog, had me singing Johnny Cash's a boy named sue everytime he was stealing the scene. It was nice to see the male be a lot more vulnerable and open with his feelings rather than being a giant prick just to be one. Everytime he made a mistake he owned up to it, and that's a great quality in anyone. Annika is a tough but strong female force who gives to everyone around her and forgets to take care of herself. I loved all the baking and food parts, it made me feel like I was in their shops listening to their conversations in real life. This book makes me want to live in either Shipwreck or Sarcasm, both places have such a strong devotion to their own people that you can't help but want to be a part of it. The heat between Annika and Grady is palpable through the pages! This book will have you laughing, and rooting for them from the first chapter!
I was gifted an ARC copy of this book in return for my honest review.

Welcome back to the wonderful world of Pippa Grant! If you haven’t read any of her other books, this is a good place to start. You won’t be lost, but you will get sucked in! This book is amazing in that it is a part of the Pippa-verse, but can be enjoyed as a stand alone very easily.
Former best friends turned enemies, with a second chance at love in a bakery battle! That is only the tip of the plot line, and there are a ton of twists and turns and crazy pirate antics along the way. This is baking, I mean, writing...both, at it’s best!
Grady Rock, aka the Master Baker, is hilarious! The way he whispers sweet nothings to his baked goods! Ya’ll, this reader may have snorted while laughing then had a few post-baby bladder malfunctions while reading such funny stuff! And Sue the goat contributed to a lot of it as well. And the parrot. Back to Grady, who is not only a great baker, but attempting to get over an old flame. Old Flame, aka, Annika. Who can’t bake, but can show a spreadsheet who is boss. I loved their interactions, and how they had to reconcile the past with the time they spent apart, and who they are now.
Despite the years apart, there’s feelings and history. Things that not even a goat and foul mouthed parrot can stop. With more panache (or would that be ganache?) than their high school selves had, these two heat up the counters and sheets.
This book took a bit to suck me in, but I was a bit leery as I didn’t love Flirting with the Frenemy, and Master Baker takes us back to Sarcasm and Shipwreck. (I’m more a fan of the hockey romance by Ms. Grant.) But once I started reading, I couldn’t put it down. The characters sense of loyalty and quirks resonated with me and make the book binge worthy. There were just enough glimpses of friends from the Pippa-verse in all the right places as well!
This book is amazing. I am so glad I read it and I can’t wait for more! Cooper deserves a story of his own for sure.

Grady and Annika are end game!! Annika has her life flipped turned upside down. She leaves the Army and has to come back to her home town to take care of her suddenly blind mom and her 13 year old sister. She also has to face her old best friend and the guy she had a crush on all through school. Grady doesn’t handle Annika’s return well. He does what anyone would do, start a baking war with a blind women and a teenager. Despite being a shithead he and Annika find a way to work through the Mayham to find a way forward.
This is my 3rd read of Master Baker (now known as Dirty Talking Rival in a recent renaming. I like Master Baker better)
Grady Rock fell in love with Annika Williams when he was 14 years old, and he never fell out. Even when she left to join the army, so she could create a life for herself where she wasn't the daughter of a woman who was a single teen mother. Now Annika's back due to a family emergency, and she needs to save her mother's new bakery - which is in competition with Grady's bakery.
Grady's from Shipwreck and Annika's from Sarcasm - and the feud is just one of the reasons they need to keep their renewed relationship a secret.
How long can the Bakery Wars go on before one or both of them ends up with a broken heart again? Because neither one of them wants to be a secret - but which one will be the one to risk alienating family and friends to claim the love of his or her life?

Whew. If you are looking for a MMC that can bake, is a dirty talking pro, and has forearms of steel from all the kneading of buns he does 😏 have I got a book for you! Did I think the rivalry between towns and this the bakery war a little over the top? Yes. But it sure did make for an entertaining listen!

💋 best friends to enemies to lovers
💋 second chance romance
💋 competing bakery owners
💋 from rival towns
💋 bakery war.
💋 a goat named Sue
Grady has always known he was going to have a bakery. He thought he would end up with his high school best friend though, and she took off for basic training right after he finally confessed his feelings for her. When a flier around town announces a new bakery in the rival town down the road, he doesn’t pay much attention until he sees it. Her name. She is back, didn’t tell him and apparently started a bakery to directly compete with his. That’s it. This. Is. War.
Thank you to Hambright PR for the copy, all thoughts are my own.
