This is one of my favorite books ever written. The plot and the way the story culminates is so perfect and spine-chilling, I love it.

"When the sea goes down, there will come from the mainland boats and men. And they will find ten dead bodies and an unsolved problem on Soldier Island."

As this is my first Christie, I'm not sure I can be considered an accurate judge, but here goes: Five stars. Five. Stars.

Growing up, I've always been an insane fan of mystery and intrigue. Encyclopedia Brown, The Boxcar Children, and Nancy Drew were among my most frequent reads. So, naturally I knew I'd one day have to pick up an Agatha Christie. I think her title of "The Queen of Mystery" is absolutely deserved.

As to this actual novel, I enjoyed getting to know all the characters and their secrets, plus the constant debate as to "who is the murderer??" I had my suspicions, but Christie wrote it so well and threw in so many twists that I was constantly doubting myself and the end result kind of surprised me. Thickening plots and inner monologues kept the pages turning.

If you're a fan of mysteries or looking for a Christie novel to start with, this is the one.

My first time reading this murder mystery classic. Old-timey in a mostly charming, casually racist way appropriate for the 1930s lol

Fun little read and not too spooky!

Amazing amazing amazing!

It was hard for me to get into it at first because there are so many characters with different backstories and completely unrelated to each other. But once I was able to identify them and *stuff* started happening I couldn't put the book down! If you are a fan of the movie Clue, and like murder mysteries, this is highly recommended. It made me feel many *feels*, and it even creeped me out at times. 5 stars!
