Piper you broke my heart yet again! If the first book made you fall in love with the characters the second book made you passionately fall deeper in love. I enjoyed how we were able to develop the story so much and I’m blown away and so excited for the fact there are two more books in the series. Buckle up, this book was a rollercoaster of emotions and I couldn’t put it down for the three days I took to read it!

I just finished this book today and read the entire thing over the weekend. While I agree with some reviews stating that the writing is not the best ever, not every book has to be scholarly written. Personally, I enjoy the flowery style of writing and find it very easy to read. I don’t enjoy reading books where I have to continuously reread sentences or books that I need to read slowly to fully comprehend. Piper’s books flow effortlessly in a way that I am able to read them quickly. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series and seeing where it takes the characters.

✨ Spoilers ahead if you haven’t read The Night and its Moon ✨

This book picks up there the last one ended: Nox and Amaris are ripped apart minutes after reuniting. Amaris and Gad are forced to work together to spread the news of the Queen’s illusion while Nox/Ash/Malik are on a journey to find Amaris. Both journeys are difficult as each group faces their own challenges…whether that be a big spider or learning how to trust each other.

This book is action packed! I love seeing Nox and Amaris evolve. Amaris is pushed to her limits to unlock a new power while Nox takes dangerous risks to find out who she really is (

I really wanted to like this series.
I like the concept, I like the idea of the plot.
I found that there were way too many similarities between other YA fantasy books for me to enjoy reading it. I read about 150 pages and stopped reading it
