Enjoyed Book 2 much more than Book 1. It had better writing, better world building, and actually some character developed. I did question the romantic relationships since we're clearly meant to root for the two protagonists but hoping Book 3 confirms the characters are all poly and things will work out.

I did not like the ending, say last 25% of the book. I would give this less than 4 stars but really did enjoy it up to that point. I was very disappointed in the misunderstanding trope which basically derails all the growth the character had displayed and I could not emphasize.

I'll hold off on Book 3.
