This one really felt like an 'inbetween' book but the writing is still really good.

Crying screaming throwing up. I'm BEGGING you to push thru to the last 1/4 of this book. Almost DNF but I love the characters so much and I'm glad I kept reading for them. This story has me in a chokehold but I still have an 8 week hold on the next book at the e-library. I'll be doing nothing but thinking of amaris, nox, gad, malik, and fckn gd yazlyn until I get my hands on the next story. 4 stars bc I feel like the same thing gets said over and over in different ways like the paragraphs are all just different drafts of each other that all got put in.

And here I was, thinking the FIRST book was good. No, I wasn’t expecting this book to stab me in the heart and make me cry in the last two chapters, but here we are.
The way every single character in this story had a GENEROUS amount of development was one of my favorite parts. But more than anything, I felt literally glued to the pages of this book while reading. I was on the edge for majority of it and I cannot stress enough how EXCITED I am to read the third novel.

Really great continuation of the world, world building ect. Characters are fun and continue to grow. Relationships change and develop. New revelations to be had. Definitely enjoyed it and will probably continue the series

I devoured this book faster than her first and I’m more than likely going to devour the next two books! This series is complex with hints of the Witcher, hints of Lord of the Rings with a dash of original and likeable spice without it being entire chapters dedicated to 10 minutes of furniture breaking sex. The banter between characters is witty the emotions shared between character keeps you on your toes or causes you to cry. Book two was hardly plagued with the sequel lull most find themselves in when trying to divulge all the missing information from the first book too.
