I read this book years ago, but it had been a while, so I decided to reread it again. I'd forgotten a lot of the details from the book, since I more recently saw the movie, but I really love Katniss's character and how she's not a particularly likable person, as opposed to someone who you always want to root for all the time. Or rather, you want to root for her, but also it's easy to become frustrated at her at the same time. I also thought that the worldbuilding and the design of everything in the arena was so imaginative. Worldbuilding is something that can make or break a story for me, and it plays almost as important a role for me as character development. Finally, I'm not normally into romance at all in stories, but I actually care about Katniss and Peeta here, so that's a testament to how well it's written and woven into the story instead of something on the side that feels just added in without being integrated well.

Now I want to go and rewatch the movie lol.
