I'm re-reading all of Agatha Christie's novels in order, and it's quite an interesting project. I'm getting a very good look at how Christie varied her approaches from novel to novel--I really see why she was so successful for so long, despite sticking with improbable detectives for decades. In this case, we have a Poirot novel, but the narrator is a delightful, crotchety, set-in-her ways, somewhat narrow-minded and somewhat gullible nurse, honest as the day is long. Very entertaining. I did remember quite early on how this one came out, but it was fun to see how Christie constructed the puzzle.
