loved the atmosphere and this was a fun mystery. a little too much info about the company that i don't care about - plus i thought the company was going to be used in a more creative way and it wasn't. i didn't connect with any of the characters which is typical for how i feel about ruth ware books.

This was good but it dragged at the end. It could have been wrapped up SEVERAL chapters before it was.

Quick synopsis: a group of people show up to a secluded ski resort, big storm comes in, there is an avalanche, and people are getting killed. Is the killer a guest, the chef, or the chalet host? A classic who-did-it murder mystery story.
Big Ruth Ware fans: the ending doesn’t have the big twist at the end. I figured out who the killer was way before it was revealed, which is not normal while reading Ware, and the ending has a lovely wrap up giving you the warm fuzzies of hope. Not the story I was anticipating but well written of course, because it is Ware.

This book started out slow and quickly turned into a whodunnit story. The story revolves around a corporate retreat in a French ski resort. We learn quickly that this retreat isn’t centered solely on employee bonding but also a company buyout. As the title suggests employees go missing one by one.
Fun read in the dead of winter but the tech/ business stuff dampened the suspense.
