I’ve read Alex Findlay’s four previous books and have been a fan since 2023. Out of all the books that I was waiting patiently to be released in 2025, Parent’s Weekend is in the top five. The story is about five college kids who disappear from campus during Parent’s Weekend. They are close friends but share a secret. A secret connected to the recent discovery of another’s student’ s body a week prior. Special Agent Sarah Keller is on the case. She and her family moved across country from NY to California. She’s barely able to get adjusted before she’s solving a new mystery. There are some aspects of Findlay’s writing that I am used to. The third person point of view that he writes in along with multiple characters being highlighted in seperate chapters. I love that writing style.

The only thing that I did not like is the third. It felt rushed. I was disappointed by that. However, Agent Keller’s action sequence made up for that. The writing itself was easy to follow and for the most part the story was cohesive and flowed. I rated Parent’s Weekend four stars out of five. Yes, I will be reading the sixth book that the author is currently writing.
