Loved it! I have loved other books by Alex Finlay and jumped to read this when I had the chance! I loved it! There were some parts that may have been predictable but overall, I hadn’t guessed the main twists and had been surprised! I had the audiobook version, and the narrator was great! I listened to this in one sitting!

This was a quick, binge-able thriller. I love the short chapters because it feels like the story moves quickly. I did like the different POVs, but it did feel like there were so many characters, and it was honestly hard to keep track of everyone. There we so many different possible "suspects", but none of them ever felt right and I basically figured out the "twist" from the beginning. I also would have liked to see more of the story from the student's perspective, instead of the parents'.
The ending wrapped up the story nicely, but it did leave me wanting more. Overall, it was a solid "popcorn" thriller and I enjoyed it.

This book has a great hook with the beginning with The Five and their realization that they have done something terrible but not knowing what and it drew me right in! I love the way this author writes his thrillers, nicely twisty with rotating view points with the parents (where you get to see how their actions might be the reason their kids have gone missing), to the students (ramping up the tension as you see what terrible mess they are in) and of course FBI Agent Keller whom I absolutely love and am glad she has made a reappearance in solving this current case. She is smart and knows how to use all the resources (including taking along local agents and one eager intern as they know the area and people) to solve the case. She really does shine and I hope we get to see her and her family in more of these thrilling books.
This was a fast and thrilling read and kept me on the edge of my seat as I urged Agent Keller and the other officers to find out the truth and where they missing students have gone, hopefully before they end up dead! Yes, there is sadness in this book, but I really enjoyed it and the ending was good.

Let’s call this one what it is…..a quick and easy police procedural. To be fair with all the different POVS, the only people I did care about was Agent Keller and her family…..and oddly enough I still was kind of hoping her husband might be the bad guy 🤓. Perhaps because he seems too good to be true.
Otherwise I just went along for the ride. The five and their parents all have some massive issues. Everybody is hiding something……so yeah if you’re just ready for a easy read that doesn’t require a ton of brain power then this is it!
I received an ARC of this title, all opinions are my own.

📖 Bookish Thoughts:
Absolutely loved this thriller! The five college students vanishing during Parents Weekend? Immediate hit. I really enjoyed getting POVs from both the students and their parents—it gave the story more momentum!
And our FBI Agent? She was a total baddie. Smart, sharp, and calm. I adored her and her sweet, supportive husband.
It was a little confusing at first with all the POV shifts, but once it clicked—ohhh it clicked. I felt like I was watching a movie the whole time. The ending? So freaking good… and so absolutely heartbreaking. 😭😭😭 This is that “hold your breath” kind of suspense.
🖤 Read if you love:

'Parents Weekend' was an interesting thriller. At parents' dinner for a college event, five students never arrive and seemed to have disappeared. Initially, taking the case is Agent Keller. I liked her no-nonsense approach. There were multiple points of view within the story. Secrets were discovered in all the families as the investigation continued. Short chapters added to the suspense. The narrator handled all of the voices well. 4 stars.

Five college students go missing and an FBI agent rushes to find them.
This book was so… mediocre. The characters were flat, underdeveloped, and unlikable. The story was - fine - but I didn’t find myself at the edge of my seat. There weren’t any twists and turns and there wasn’t any tension or thrill to the story. Did not feel engaged or connected to any characters. This was a miss for me.
