Thanks to @stmartinspress for a gifted eARC.

Parents Weekend also kept me hooked from start to finish. Five college kids go missing during, you guessed it, Parents Weekend. Besides the kids add in some sketchy, high-profile parents and secrets galore, and you’ve got the perfect binge read. This story unfolded layer by layer as we tried to figure out what actually happened.

There were a lot of characters to keep track of at first, but once I got into the groove, I couldn’t put it down.

Alex Finlay has a talent for writing twisty thrillers that are quick reads and sometimes that’s exactly what I want. His upcoming book Parents Weekend is another shining example. I wouldn’t say I was on the edge of my seat but I was certainly invested and surprised plenty of times along the way! I also love thrillers with a college setting which is exactly what this was! I read the book as well as listened to the audiobook. The audiobook was narrated by one of my faves Brittany Presley so that was a treat as always!

5 very different students from a private northern California are missing, and it is parents’ weekend at the school. This isn’t good for a school that had a student die recently.  Libby, Blane, Mark, Felix, and Stella—The Five, as the podcasters, bloggers, and TikTok sleuths call them. This is a very fast-moving thriller. Perfect for the beach or pool!

really enjoyed this thriller and the multiple families it follows. Lost me a bit at the end but then it all came back together. Listened to the audio-and Brittany Pressley is amazing…but with several families, I wonder if multiple narrators would have added to the experience.

The premise was interesting, but I felt that more could have been done with it. The mystery was fast-paced and tense but didn't have any depth or twists. The relationship among the students was not well-established prior to the crime and the plot was somewhat predictable though still enjoyable.
