I really like the premise of the story and I LOVE the main couple, especially the FMC. It’s very repetitive so far, and I’m pretty sure it’s bc Ines needs to continuously go through similar situations to assist her character growth, but I wish the author was able to use a different mechanism to help the story progress.
Also Balan? I LOVE HIM. He better get the happiest ending ever, screw the main couple I wanna see my boi be happy

tl;dr this is such a fun romp, and also a deeply moving exploration of how to build a life filled with love after trauma.
This manhwa found me at the right time. It’s a great story for people who are suckers for 2 traumatized survivors of abuse falling in love, over and over again. There’s so much I love about this story — it’s serious and dark, it’s laugh-out-loud funny, it’s wholesome, it’s sexy. The fact that the main guy’s first name literally means “Prison,” and the fact that his full name means “Prison of the Wife Climber” is so irresistibly campy. I love that he’s instantly simping over Inés. Their dynamic is so cute I could squeal.
This is a unique manhwa in a million ways — it’s set in a fantasy version of Spain; it’s a regression (i.e. reincarnation going back in time) story where both MCs start out as pretty problematic and find love and healing through each other; there’s layers to the villains; the sexual violence is never sexualized and rarely explicitly drawn (and there's usually trigger warnings). You can tell the author and illustrators care deeply about making this a beautiful, respectful, interesting story. This has some of the most beautiful story pages I’ve seen.
Depending where you read this story, the comments are SO FUNNY. I spend half my time reading chapters, and the other half reading the fan comments at the end of each chapter, which leave me laughing my ass off or thinking deeper about the characters. Since this manhwa is based off a light novel series with OVER A MILLION WORDS IN IT, the plot is thicker if you’re willing to read fan comments that share the finer details that didn’t make it to the manhwa version. This is a manhwa that is truly best enjoyed in the company of its fandom, reading comments sections and getting into the deeper lore of each character’s psyche. (I use bato)

My biggest negatives of this story — the smut isn’t that smutty. Sometimes there’s dubious consent (not nearly as much as a lot of manhwas, but it’s still there). Inés does gaslight Cárcel, although the manhwa downplays this.

Ines deserves the world. I would do anything for this woman and actually do not blame Carcel for acting up when she wasn't giving him her attention bc yeah, that would eviscerate me. I adore this story and if am not promptly provided with its next installment I fear I'll lose my mind, thank you for coming to my ted talk.
