I absolutely adore this entire series so it should be no surprise that I love this one just as much. Oliver and Felipe never fail to warm my heart and I adore seeing how far they and their relationship has come. I’m giggling and kicking my feet over them constantly. Jorgensen also really put the hurt in hurt/comfort in this book. This book really dived into the depths of both of their painful pasts and it HURTS. I have personal beef with Felipe’s entire family. I loved getting more context for both of their pasts and it really added more depth to both of their characters. On top of that this book was so wonderfully atmospheric (you can never go wrong with an eerie magical sentient forest). If you’ve read this series before this is a must read sequel and if you haven’t then this is your sign to go pick up the first book!

The best book of the series, I think, and I’ve enjoyed all of them. Eagerly anticipating the fourth book next fall. Full review here:

I am totally on board for the continuing adventures of Oliver and Felipe. In this episode, the couple take on a mysterious case of zombies in what turns out to be the town that Oliver was born in. We get more background about the childhoods of Oliver and Felipe and how those experiences have affected them. And also, Oliver has been trying for weeks to propose to Felipe. The magical 1800's New York created in this series is so well thought out and fun to read. The dynamic between the two MCs is really sweet and it's nice to see the deepening relationship as the series goes on. Highly recommend.
